During today’s London Tech Week event, Eileen Naughton, the managing director and VP for sales and operations in Google UK-Ireland, announced more than half of all UK searches are done via mobile.
The stat was shared by attendee Dan Cobley via his Google+ profile.
As recently as May, Google reported on its Adwords Blog that more searches are happening on mobile devices versus desktop in ten separate countries, but failed to specify where the search numbers were coming from beyond the U.S. and Japan.
In fact, more Google searches take place on mobile devices than on computers in 10 countries including the US and Japan.
From Naughton’s comments, it appears we can add the UK to that list of ten countries.
