As producers of the largest global search marketing conference series, we recognize that many marketers may only be able to attend one or two large events per year, and it can often be difficult to send multiple team members to those, to say the least.
For this reason, regional professional groups provide an excellent service to the search marketing industry at large by providing affordable, local options to learn from and network with peers on a regular basis. In addition, many of these groups do offer their members discount codes for national and global conferences like SMX – Search Marketing Expo & Conference Series.
We’re thrilled to have these local and regional associations helping Search Engine Land spread the word about recognizing exceptional efforts in search marketing via our new awards program (#TheLandys).
In addition to lending promotional support for the Search Engine Land Awards, each of these professional search marketing associations have agreed to participate in judging the “Pay It Forward” category, which recognizes an individual or an agency for:
volunteer hours (or steeply discounted consulting rates) for digital marketing expertise committed to helping a non-profit/charitable organization with its online marketing efforts.
Since many of these local organizations run as non-profit corporations and rely on the volunteer efforts of their members, it is also fitting that all profits from “the Landy Awards” (including: awards entry fees, corporate sponsorships and awards event tickets sold) will be donated to two non-profit organizations: BeTheMatch.org and CODE.org.
Thank you to these local partners for helping us Celebrate the Power of Search!
As one of the most regional organizations in the US, SEMNE.org hosts its regular meetups on a rotating schedule between several cities in the Northeast corridor, including: Boston, MA; Stamford, CT; and Portsmouth, NH, among others.
This midwestern group covers the twin cities and beyond, with a sizable community of in-house search expertise and agency talent. In addition to their regular meetups, MNSearch is hosting its second annual one-day Summit event on June 26, 2015.
One of the first local search marketing organizations established in the US, this group covers the large metro area of Dallas-Fort Worth. In addition to hosting monthly events, DFWSEM.org produces an annual State of Search event every November.
Heading into its fourth year of existence, SLCSEM.org covers the “Silicon Slopes” of Utah, regularly hosting meetings at the Adobe campus and at various other locations in the Salt Lake Valley. The group will host its first local Digital Marketing Conference on September 2, 2015.
In addition to monthly meetups, this northwest group is most known for its two well established annual events: the SEMPDX rooftop networking party and charity fundraiser every August, and SearchFest in February.
As previously announced, SEMPO.org will be participating by judging and presenting “Search Marketer of the Year” honors to both a Male and Female recipient at the awards ceremony on September 30, 2015. These awards will recognize individuals that demonstrate exceptional skills and measurable results in search marketing – organic SEO (and/or) paid SEM.
Learn more here about how to nominate individual work for consideration, or if you’re a business owner/executive or marketing group manager at an agency or on an internal team, how to nominate an employee to be considered for this award.
